What a year of bookings costs

FareHarbor (booking fee, about 6%) against Tourtify Growth, billed yearly. Card processing is charged on top in both cases, so it is left out.

Who pays for your booking system

FareHarbor does not publish a price list. Independent reviews and operators describe the same model: no monthly subscription for the operator, and a booking fee added to online bookings and paid by the customer, most often reported at around 6%, with some reports of 6 to 8% and lower rates for large operators. Card processing is charged on top. Your exact terms depend on your agreement with FareHarbor, so check them before you compare.

Free for the operator is not the same as free. The fee is part of what your customer pays for your tour: on a $150 booking, a 6% fee adds $9 at checkout. Either your price looks higher than it is, or you lower your price to absorb the fee and pay it yourself.

Tourtify works the other way round. You pay a flat monthly plan, published on our pricing page, and there is no booking fee for you or your customers: the price on your website is the price they pay. Card processing is charged by your own payment provider and the money goes straight into your account.

Your website and your brand

With FareHarbor, the booking calendar and checkout are added to the website you already have. You keep running that site, its hosting and its plugins, and the booking flow lives in a separate system.

Tourtify includes the website itself: themes made for tour operators, a visual site editor and page builder, tour pages with itineraries, maps, reviews and FAQs, a blog, search engine settings and structured data, and your own domain with SSL. Bookings, payments and the pages that sell them sit in one place, so a price or date you change in the console is right on your website straight away.

Selling through other channels

FareHarbor is part of Booking Holdings and connects to a range of distribution partners. If most of your bookings come through those partners, that connection matters, and you should weigh it carefully.

Tourtify keeps your direct website at the centre and adds channels around it: a channel manager plugin for online travel agencies, resellers and agents with their own links and commission, an open API and OCTO connectivity for distribution platforms. Availability stays in one calendar, so a seat sold on one channel disappears from the others.

Running each departure

Both systems cover the day-to-day work of a tour business. In Tourtify that includes manifests and check-in with QR tickets, guides and their schedules, waivers and traveller details collected before the trip, deposits, balances and instalments with automatic reminders, gift vouchers, add-ons and reports. Multi-day tours and treks get departures, day-by-day itineraries and a printable trip PDF.

FAQ

Tourtify vs FareHarbor: questions

Something else? Talk to our team.

Does FareHarbor charge a monthly fee?

FareHarbor does not publish its pricing. Independent reviews describe no monthly subscription for most operators, with a booking fee paid by customers on online bookings and card processing on top. Check your own agreement for your exact terms.

Who pays card processing with Tourtify?

Your payment provider charges its usual processing fee, and the payment goes straight into your own account. Tourtify adds no fee of its own on top.

What happens to bookings already made in FareHarbor?

Import your future bookings so your team sees every departure in one place, and keep FareHarbor open until the trips booked there have run. Travellers who booked there keep their confirmations.

Is Tourtify owned by an online travel agency?

No. Tourtify is an independent software company. Your customer data and bookings are yours, and you can export them at any time.

Is Tourtify cheaper than FareHarbor?

It depends on how much you sell and on FareHarbor's current pricing. Tourtify is a flat monthly price with no fee per booking, so its cost doesn't grow with your sales. Use the calculator on our home page with your own numbers and compare it with FareHarbor's pricing.

Can I move my tours from FareHarbor?

Yes. Bring your tours across with the importer or set them up in the console, add redirects from your old links, and switch your domain when you're ready. We'll help you plan the move.

Can I keep selling on other channels while I switch from FareHarbor?

Yes. Build and test your Tourtify site on its free address first. Resellers can connect through OCTO, and agents get their own links, so nothing stops while you move.

Do I need to sign a long contract?

No. Monthly plans have no long-term contract, and you can export your bookings at any time.
