How Xola is paid for

Xola has no subscription. Its pricing page says pricing is on request and that Xola assesses a small partner fee to your customers on every purchase, with no added OTA fees. Its help center describes the fee structures: Flex Level, a 3% service fee, and Flex Standard, a 6% service fee on online card transactions, each paid either by the guest as a separate line at checkout or by the company out of its payouts. Card processing is charged on top, from 2.39% + $0.30 in the US. Which structure you can use depends on requirements in your Xola account.

When the guest pays, a 6% fee adds $9 to a $150 booking, so your price at checkout is higher than the one on your tour page. When you pay, it comes out of your revenue. Either way the cost grows with your sales.

Tourtify is a flat monthly plan, published on our pricing page, with no fee for you or your customers: the price on your website is the price they pay. Card processing is charged by your own payment provider and the money goes straight into your account.

Your website

Xola's online checkout, with add-ons, coupons and abandoned cart recovery, works on your website, and Xola also offers website services. Tourtify includes the website itself: themes made for tour operators, a visual site editor and page builder, tour pages with day-by-day itineraries, maps, reviews and FAQs, a blog, search engine settings and structured data, in up to 28 languages on your own domain.

Attractions, walk-ups and recovery

Xola is strong with attractions and activities that sell to many guests on the day: point of sale and ticketing for walk-up customers, gated entry, digital waivers and Xolabot, which follows up abandoned bookings. It is well rated by its users on review sites. If your business runs on high-volume walk-up sales, those tools matter.

Tourtify covers point of sale with offline sales, QR tickets and check-in, and waivers and traveller details collected before the trip, and adds what multi-day tours and treks need: departures with day-by-day itineraries and printable trip PDFs, deposits, balances and instalments with automatic reminders, rooms and extras, and guides with their schedules.

Selling through other channels

Xola connects to online travel agencies and local partners. Tourtify gives agents and resellers their own booking links, rates and commission statements, connects to distribution platforms through OCTO and an open API, and adds a channel manager plugin for online travel agencies, all booking from one calendar.

Why operators choose Tourtify

What you get with Tourtify

  • A flat monthly price with no service fee for you or your guests
  • The price on your website is the price your customers pay
  • A complete booking website with themes included
  • Payments straight to your own Stripe, PayPal or regional provider account

When Xola may suit you better

  • You want no fixed monthly cost at all, and your guests accept a service fee at checkout.
  • You run an attraction with many walk-up guests and rely on Xola's point of sale and gated entry.
  • Your sales are small enough that a percentage costs less than a monthly plan.

Moving from Xola

  1. 1Export from Xola. Download or request a spreadsheet of your customers and future bookings from Xola.
  2. 2Start a Tourtify trial. Set up your business on its free address. Nothing you do there affects your live website.
  3. 3Import with a dry run. Upload the spreadsheet and match its columns. Tourtify shows every row it will create, and what it will skip, before anything changes.
  4. 4Add tours and payments. Create your tours, prices and departures, connect your own payment provider and take a test booking.
  5. 5Switch your domain. Point your domain at Tourtify and add redirects from old links. Keep Xola open until the bookings made there have run.

FAQ

Tourtify vs Xola: questions

Something else? Talk to our team.

Does Xola charge a monthly fee?

No. Xola has no subscription. It is paid for through a service fee on bookings, 3% or 6% depending on the fee structure according to its help center, paid by the guest or by the operator, with card processing on top. Check your own agreement for your exact terms.

Who pays Xola's service fee?

It depends on the fee structure: on the guest-pays options the fee is added at checkout as a separate line, and on the company-pays options it is deducted from your payouts. With Tourtify there is no service fee for anyone.

Can I import my bookings from Xola?

Yes. Upload a spreadsheet of your customers and bookings and match its columns to Tourtify's fields; a dry run checks every row before anything is imported, and imported bookings send no emails to travellers.

Is Tourtify cheaper than Xola?

It depends on how much you sell and on Xola's current pricing. Tourtify is a flat monthly price with no fee per booking, so its cost doesn't grow with your sales. Use the calculator on our home page with your own numbers and compare it with Xola's pricing.

Can I move my tours from Xola?

Yes. Bring your tours across with the importer or set them up in the console, add redirects from your old links, and switch your domain when you're ready. We'll help you plan the move.

Can I keep selling on other channels while I switch from Xola?

Yes. Build and test your Tourtify site on its free address first. Resellers can connect through OCTO, and agents get their own links, so nothing stops while you move.

Do I need to sign a long contract?

No. Monthly plans have no long-term contract, and you can export your bookings at any time.
