Team & security · Console languages
Your team's console, in their language
Use the Tourtify console in English or 14 other languages, on a computer, tablet or phone. Each person picks their own; Arabic and Hebrew switch to right-to-left.
Overview
Console languages at a glance
Tour teams are international. Every person chooses the console language that suits them, and the choice follows them to any device. Teammates keep their own languages, and your website and traveller emails are unaffected.
Arabic and Hebrew switch the whole console to a right-to-left layout: the sidebar moves to the right, text aligns right, and arrows and drawers are mirrored. Light and dark display themes are available too.

Bringing a multilingual team on board
A language choice belongs to the person, not the business. Once someone chooses a language under Display, it is saved to their account, so it applies in every Tourtify business they belong to with the same sign-in. A guide who freelances for two operators sees the console in Nepali in both.
Team emails follow the same idea. New booking and new enquiry alerts go to each owner and admin in their own console language where Tourtify's emails support it, otherwise in the business's main language. A team invitation is written in the console language of the person who sends it, so an owner who works in Spanish invites a new colleague in Spanish.
Before someone picks a language, browser settings are matched sensibly. Portuguese from Brazil or plain Portuguese gives Portuguese (Brazil), while Portugal, Angola and Mozambique give Portuguese (Portugal). Chinese from mainland China or Singapore gives Simplified Chinese; Traditional Chinese has no console translation yet, so the next language in the browser list is used, or English.
Dates, times and money follow your region
The console language decides the words, while the business's Region settings decide how dates and times are written. A business that uses month-first dates sees Oct 16 in English, and one that uses day-first dates sees 16 Oct. The 12-hour or 24-hour clock comes from Region too, so a departure at 14:30 looks the same to everyone on the team, whatever language they read.
Other languages pick up the business's country when formatting numbers and money. A Spanish-speaking team member at a Mexican operator sees amounts formatted the Mexican way. In Arabic, the console keeps Western digits, so booking references, amounts and phone numbers read exactly as they appear on bank statements, emails and tickets.
What stays in your own words
Changing the console language translates Tourtify's own interface, not your content. Tour names, options and traveller types appear as you wrote them in your main website language, so the team always talks about the same product by the same name. Enquiry messages, team notes and booking notes show exactly as they were typed.
In a mixed-language team, agree a language for shared notes on bookings and enquiries, because those are read by everyone and aren't translated. A few newer screens may show some English while translations catch up; everything on them works the same.
For tour businesses with seasonal staff from different countries, letting each person work in their own language cuts training time and mistakes at check-in, while the traveller still sees your website and emails in the languages you set up for them.
Shared devices and the office tablet
Language and display theme are stored in different places on purpose. The language is saved to the person's account, so when a guide signs in on the shared check-in tablet, the console appears in their language, and the next person who signs in sees theirs.
The light, dark or system theme is saved on the device instead. A tablet used outdoors at the meeting point can stay in light mode for readability in sunshine, while the same people use dark mode on their own laptops in the evening, without either choice overriding the other.
In Arabic and Hebrew the whole page is set to right to left, not only the text, and those languages are marked RTL in the picker. That helps a manager setting up a new colleague find the right option without reading the script.
How it works
Console languages, step by step
- 1
Open Display
In your account settings.
- 2
Choose a language
The console switches straight away.
Does this change my website's language?
No. Your website has its own languages: English and 28 others, each tour and page translated in the console, with its own addresses.
How is the default chosen?
Your saved choice, then your browser's first supported language, then English.
Are emails to travellers translated?
Booking emails use your own wording and business details, in the language the traveller booked in where you have translated them.
