Pay on arrival
Let travellers book online and pay on the day, in cash or however you take payments. The booking is confirmed straight away and the amount to collect shows on the manifest.
Settings
What you can set up
Pay on arrival works out of the box with sensible defaults. These are the choices you can make, straight from your console.
Checkout
- Name at checkout
- How travellers pay on the day
- Shown at checkout, on the confirmation page and in the confirmation email.
Limits
- Largest group that can pay on arrival
- Bigger groups pay online, so a no-show never empties a departure.
- Offer it only for trips within (days)
- Further ahead, travellers pay online. 0 offers it for any date.
No-show protection
- Ask for a card to guarantee the booking
- Travellers save a card when they book; nothing is charged. If they don’t turn up, charge the no-show fee from the booking page. Needs a payment account that supports saved cards (Stripe); without one, travellers book without a card.
- No-show fee (% of the booking)
- Shown to travellers at checkout. Only charged when you choose to, after the trip has started. 0 asks for no card.

How payments plugins fit in
Payments in Tourtify always go to your own account with your chosen provider. Stripe is built in, and gateway plugins add the methods travellers use in their country. Deposits, balances and receipts work the same whichever gateway a traveller picks; refunds are sent through the provider where its API allows, or recorded when you make them in its dashboard.

Deposits & instalments
Take a deposit at booking and collect the balance later. Deposits (Starter): automatic card charges, reminders, retries and personal payment links for the balance. Instalment plans (Growth): let travellers pay the balance in equal scheduled payments.
Company accounts
Let schools, companies and partner agencies book on account and pay later on terms such as net 30, up to a credit limit you set. Invoices go to the company, and you get account statements, ageing and automatic overdue reminders.
Refund approvals
Refunds above a limit you set wait for a second person to approve them, with a time limit, reminders and a full record of who asked, who approved and why. Package refunds still go out within the legal 14 days.
Pay by bank transfer
Let travellers book now and pay by bank transfer. They get your bank details and their reference by email, the seats are kept for a few days, and the booking confirms when you record the money.
