Menus that sell destinations
Large tour operators open their main menu as a full-width panel rather than a short list: destinations grouped by region with photos, a featured tour and a line about each. The Mega menu plugin gives your website the same header. A visitor hovering over Destinations sees Nepal, Bhutan and Tibet with a photo each, plus a highlighted trek, instead of a plain list of links.
That helps visitors who arrive without a plan to find the right trip in one step, and gives your most important pages a prominent link on every page of your site.
Set up per menu item
You choose which top-level menu items open a panel, in Website › Menus. A panel can hold groups of links with photos and short descriptions, a list of destinations that fills itself as you add tours, and a featured tour. Other menu items keep opening as simple dropdowns.
Switch the plugin off and every menu opens as a simple dropdown again; your panel settings are kept for when you switch it back on.
Setting up Mega menus
- 1Switch on Mega menu. Open Plugins in your console and turn it on.
- 2Open Website › Menus. Pick a top-level item, such as Destinations, and choose to open it as a panel.
