  • You connect your own merchant account from Payments in your console.
  • Add a webhook so payments confirm instantly and refunds made in Razorpay show up on your bookings.

Taking payments from travellers in India

Indian travellers expect to pay with UPI, net banking or a wallet as readily as with a card. The Razorpay plugin offers all of these through your own Razorpay account, so domestic bookings don't depend on international cards.

Razorpay is one option at checkout next to Stripe and your other gateways. The traveller picks it, pays on Razorpay's page and comes back to your website with the booking confirmed.

Payment links that follow your seat hold

For each checkout Tourtify creates a Razorpay payment link for the exact amount due. Partial payments on the link are switched off, and Razorpay's own email and SMS notifications are turned off, so the traveller hears from your business rather than from Razorpay.

The link expires when the seats stop being held, with Razorpay's minimum of 16 minutes. After paying, the traveller returns to your website and Tourtify reads the link from Razorpay: only a paid link with a captured payment confirms the booking.

With the webhook set up, the payment_link.paid and payment.captured events confirm the booking the moment Razorpay sees the money. Without it, Tourtify checks pending payments every five minutes, which also catches travellers who close the tab after paying.

Rupees and international currencies

Razorpay appears at checkout for tours priced in INR, USD, EUR, GBP, AUD, CAD, SGD or AED. Charging in anything other than INR needs international payments switched on in your Razorpay account; the plugin's status panel reminds you when your website sells in another currency.

Refunds, disputes and settlements

Refunds from a booking go to Razorpay with an idempotency key, so a retried request never refunds twice. Refunds you make in the Razorpay dashboard arrive through the refund.processed event and show up on the booking.

Razorpay disputes appear in Tourtify as they open and change, with the reason, phase and respond-by date, so your team sees them next to the booking. Razorpay settlements to your bank are also read from Razorpay, with the payments, refunds and fees in each one and its UTR number, for payout reconciliation.

Setting up Razorpay

  1. 1Generate API keys. In Razorpay › Account & Settings › API keys, generate a key pair. Test keys start with rzp_test_ and live keys with rzp_live_.
  2. 2Connect on the Payments page. Paste the Key ID and Key secret and choose the mode that matches the key prefix. Tourtify checks the keys with Razorpay before saving.
  3. 3Add a webhook in Razorpay. In Account & Settings › Webhooks, add the webhook URL shown in the plugin, choose a secret and tick the listed events.
  4. 4Paste the same secret in Tourtify. Enter the webhook secret in the plugin's Webhooks section. The status panel then shows when the last webhook arrived.
  5. 5Test, then go live. Book with Razorpay's test UPI or card details, check the booking confirms, then reconnect with your live keys.

Payment providers

How payment providers plugins fit in

Payment provider plugins add the gateways travellers use at home, from PayPal to Mercado Pago, Paystack, Razorpay, KOMOJU or eSewa. Each connects your own merchant account, so money is paid to you directly and Tourtify takes no commission. Stripe is built in; travellers only see gateways that support the booking's currency.

FAQ

Razorpay: questions

Will travellers get emails from Razorpay?

Not for the payment link. Tourtify turns off Razorpay's link notifications and reminders; the traveller gets your booking emails.

Can I charge foreign travellers in dollars or euros?

Yes, in USD, EUR, GBP, AUD, CAD, SGD or AED, once international payments are switched on in your Razorpay account.

What happens if the traveller pays but never returns to the site?

With the webhook, the booking confirms straight away. Without it, Tourtify finds the payment on its next five-minute check.

What does Razorpay charge?

Fees depend on the method and your agreement, so check Razorpay's pricing. Tourtify takes no commission.

Which plans include Razorpay?

Razorpay is available on All plans, at no extra cost.

How do I switch on Razorpay?

In your Tourtify console, open Plugins, find it in the list and switch it on. Its settings open straight away, and you can switch it off again at any time.

Do I need a developer?

No. Plugins are built into Tourtify and set up from the console. Where an outside account is involved, such as a payment provider, you connect it by entering your account details.

Does Razorpay work with my other plugins?

Yes. Every plugin is built and maintained by Tourtify, so they work together: discounts, deposits, vouchers and fees all add up correctly at checkout.
