Red Dot Payment for South-East Asia
Red Dot Payment (RDP) is a payment gateway based in Singapore with merchants across the region. The plugin uses RDP's Redirect API with its hosted payment page: the traveller enters their card on RDP's page, so card details never touch your website or Tourtify. Each payment is a sale, authorised and captured in one step, and the money is paid into your own RDP account.
Currencies
Red Dot Payment appears at checkout for tours priced in SGD, IDR, THB, MYR or USD, and the booking is charged in the tour's own currency. If your website's main currency isn't one of them, the plugin's status panel says so; add one with the Currency switcher.
Checkout
For each payment Tourtify asks RDP for a payment page. The request carries your merchant ID, an order ID, the amount, the currency, the traveller's email, your booking reference and the pages to return to, and is signed with a SHA-512 hash that includes your secret key. It also names your business's notify URL, so there is nothing to configure in RDP. The traveller pays on RDP's page and is sent back to your website with RDP's transaction ID.
How a payment is confirmed
Neither the return nor RDP's notification marks a booking paid on its own. A notification's signature is checked with your secret key, and it must be about one of your business's payments. Then, for both the return and the notification, Tourtify queries the transaction with RDP in a signed request and checks that the answer names your order ID. A successful answer confirms the booking with the amount RDP reports. Any other answer leaves the payment unpaid, and the traveller can try again.
Tourtify checks when the traveller returns, when a notification arrives and every five minutes after, for up to 26 hours.
Refunds in the RDP portal
Red Dot Payment refunds are made in your RDP merchant portal rather than from Tourtify. Refund the traveller there, then choose "I refunded it in the provider's dashboard" on the booking so the booking, the traveller's balance and your reports stay correct.
Test and live
RDP issues separate test credentials, with a different secret key from your live one. In Test mode payments go to RDP's test environment and no real money moves; Live uses RDP's production environment. RDP has no call for checking keys, so when you connect, Tourtify checks that the merchant ID is filled in and the secret key is complete. Your first test payment proves them, so make one before you switch to Live.
Setting up Red Dot Payment
- 1Get your test credentials. Red Dot Payment sends a merchant ID (MID) and secret key for its test environment, in your welcome email or merchant portal.
- 2Connect in Test mode. On the Payments page, add Red Dot Payment, paste the MID and secret key and choose Test.
- 3Price a tour. Give the tour a price in SGD, IDR, THB, MYR or USD.
- 4Make a test booking. Pay with RDP's test card on its page and check the booking confirms when you return.
- 5Switch to Live. Update the MID and secret key with your live ones and choose Live.

How payment providers plugins fit in
Payment provider plugins add the gateways travellers use at home, from PayPal to Mercado Pago, Paystack, Razorpay, KOMOJU or eSewa. Each connects your own merchant account, so money is paid to you directly and Tourtify takes no commission. Stripe is built in; travellers only see gateways that support the booking's currency.
