Who it's for
Why operators use Tap Payments
Operators whose travellers are in Saudi Arabia, the UAE, Kuwait, Bahrain, Qatar, Oman or Egypt. Offering the payment methods people already use at home is one of the simplest ways to stop them abandoning checkout.
Highlights
- Travellers pay with cards, mada, KNET, BENEFIT, Apple Pay, STC Pay, Tabby and Tamara
- Money is paid into your own merchant account, never held by Tourtify
- Payments are matched to the booking automatically, so balances and receipts stay correct
- Works alongside Stripe and your other payment options
Good to know
- Prices are charged in SAR, AED, KWD, BHD, QAR, OMR, EGP and more.
- You connect your own merchant account from Payments in your console.
- Tap signs every notification with your secret key: nothing else to set up.
Local cards and wallets in the Gulf and Egypt
In Saudi Arabia, the UAE, Kuwait, Bahrain, Qatar, Oman and Egypt, travellers expect local options: mada cards in Saudi Arabia, KNET in Kuwait, BENEFIT in Bahrain, Apple Pay, STC Pay, and pay-later with Tabby or Tamara. The Tap plugin offers these and international cards through your own Tap account.
Tap appears at checkout for tours priced in SAR, AED, KWD, BHD, QAR, OMR, EGP, JOD, USD, EUR or GBP. Amounts in the three-decimal currencies, KWD, BHD, OMR and JOD, are handled to the fils.
Every method you've switched on, on one page
Tourtify asks Tap to show every method your Tap account has enabled, so adding a method in Tap needs no change in Tourtify. 3-D Secure is always on, cards are not saved, and Tap's own email and SMS receipts are off, so travellers get your booking emails.
A booking confirms when Tap reports the charge as captured, and Tourtify records whether it was mada, KNET, BENEFIT, Apple Pay, Tabby or another method. Declined or abandoned attempts don't confirm, and the traveller can start again.
Nothing to set up for webhooks
Tap is told the webhook URL on every payment and refund, and signs each notification with your secret key. There is no separate secret to copy and nothing to add in the Tap dashboard. Tourtify rejects any notification whose signature doesn't match.
Pending payments are also checked with Tap every five minutes.
Refunds
Refunds from a booking are sent to Tap in full or in part, with an idempotent reference. If Tap fails or declines a refund, you see Tap's status straight away. Tap sends refund updates to the same webhook URL.
Setting up Tap Payments
- 1Copy your test secret key. In the Tap dashboard › goSell › API credentials, copy the key that starts with sk_test_.
- 2Connect on the Payments page. Paste it and choose Test. Tourtify checks it with Tap.
- 3Enable your methods in Tap. Make sure the methods you want, such as mada, KNET, Apple Pay or Tabby, are active on your Tap account.
- 4Test a booking. Pay with a Tap test card and check the booking confirms.
- 5Go live. Replace the key with your sk_live_ key and choose Live.

How payment providers plugins fit in
Payment provider plugins add the gateways travellers use at home, from PayPal to Mercado Pago, Paystack, Razorpay, KOMOJU or eSewa. Each connects your own merchant account, so money is paid to you directly and Tourtify takes no commission. Stripe is built in; travellers only see gateways that support the booking's currency.

FAQ
Tap Payments: questions
Do I need to add a webhook in Tap?
No. Tourtify gives Tap the URL with every payment and refund, and Tap signs each notification with your secret key.
Can travellers pay later with Tabby or Tamara?
Yes, if those methods are enabled on your Tap account for the booking's currency.
What does Tap charge?
Check Tap's pricing for your country. Tourtify takes no commission.
Are travellers' cards saved?
No. Tap payments are taken with 3-D Secure and cards are not saved, so each booking is paid on its own.
Which plans include Tap Payments?
Tap Payments is available on All plans, at no extra cost.
How do I switch on Tap Payments?
In your Tourtify console, open Plugins, find it in the list and switch it on. Its settings open straight away, and you can switch it off again at any time.
Do I need a developer?
No. Plugins are built into Tourtify and set up from the console. Where an outside account is involved, such as a payment provider, you connect it by entering your account details.
Does Tap Payments work with my other plugins?
Yes. Every plugin is built and maintained by Tourtify, so they work together: discounts, deposits, vouchers and fees all add up correctly at checkout.
