Who it's for

Why operators use Xendit

Operators whose travellers are in Indonesia, the Philippines, Thailand, Vietnam or Malaysia. Offering the payment methods people already use at home is one of the simplest ways to stop them abandoning checkout.

Highlights

  • Travellers pay with cards, e-wallets, bank transfers and QR payments
  • Money is paid into your own merchant account, never held by Tourtify
  • Payments are matched to the booking automatically, so balances and receipts stay correct
  • Works alongside Stripe and your other payment options

Good to know

  • Prices are charged in the currencies your Xendit account supports in those countries.
  • You connect your own merchant account from Payments in your console.
  • Add the callback token so payments confirm instantly.

One account for Southeast Asian travellers

Across Indonesia, the Philippines, Thailand, Vietnam and Malaysia, travellers pay in many ways: cards, e-wallets, bank transfers and QR codes. The Xendit plugin offers them through your own Xendit account, so you don't need a separate gateway in each country.

Xendit appears at checkout for tours priced in IDR, PHP, THB, VND, MYR, SGD or USD. Rupiah and dong amounts are sent as whole numbers, as Xendit expects.

Xendit invoices that last as long as the hold

For each checkout Tourtify creates a Xendit invoice for the amount due, with the traveller's email and a description of the booking. The invoice page shows the methods your Xendit account offers in that currency.

The invoice stays open for as long as the seats are held, with a minimum of 15 minutes. A paid or settled invoice confirms the booking and records the method the traveller used; an expired invoice closes the payment, and the traveller can start a new checkout.

Callbacks and the verification token

Xendit sends callbacks when an invoice is paid and when a refund succeeds. Add the plugin's webhook URL for both in Xendit and paste Xendit's callback verification token into Tourtify. Every callback must carry that token, or it is rejected.

With callbacks in place, bookings confirm the moment the traveller pays, and refunds made in Xendit show up on the booking. Without them, pending invoices are checked every five minutes.

Refunds

A refund from a booking is sent to Xendit against the invoice, with an idempotency key and your note, marked as requested by the customer. Whether a method can be refunded, and how quickly, depends on Xendit and the method used.

Setting up Xendit

  1. 1Create a secret API key. In Xendit › Settings › API keys, create a key with write access to Money-in. Test keys start with xnd_development_, live keys with xnd_production_.
  2. 2Connect on the Payments page. Paste the key and choose the matching mode. Tourtify checks it with Xendit before saving.
  3. 3Set the webhook URLs. In Xendit › Settings › Webhooks, paste the plugin's webhook URL for "Invoices paid" and for "Refunds".
  4. 4Paste the verification token. Copy the callback verification token from the same Xendit page into the plugin's Webhooks section.
  5. 5Test a booking. Pay a test invoice and check the booking confirms, then switch to your production key.

How payment providers plugins fit in

Payment provider plugins add the gateways travellers use at home, from PayPal to Mercado Pago, Paystack, Razorpay, KOMOJU or eSewa. Each connects your own merchant account, so money is paid to you directly and Tourtify takes no commission. Stripe is built in; travellers only see gateways that support the booking's currency.

FAQ

Xendit: questions

Which methods will travellers see?

What happens when the invoice expires?

Tourtify closes the payment. The invoice lasts as long as the seat hold, so the traveller simply starts a new checkout.

Fees vary by country and method, so check Xendit's pricing. Tourtify takes no commission.

Which plans include Xendit?

How do I switch on Xendit?

In your Tourtify console, open Plugins, find it in the list and switch it on. Its settings open straight away, and you can switch it off again at any time.

Do I need a developer?

No. Plugins are built into Tourtify and set up from the console. Where an outside account is involved, such as a payment provider, you connect it by entering your account details.

Does Xendit work with my other plugins?

Yes. Every plugin is built and maintained by Tourtify, so they work together: discounts, deposits, vouchers and fees all add up correctly at checkout.
