Booking · Online checkout
A checkout built to convert
One clear price with fees and taxes included, seats held while travellers pay, no account to create, and a confirmation with a PDF the moment payment succeeds.
Overview
Online checkout at a glance
Checkout is where interest becomes a booking. Travellers choose a date and travellers, see the price update with any group price applied, and continue to a short checkout. Their seats are held for 30 minutes so they have time to pay.
Trust signals are built in: book direct with the operator, secure payment on your provider's page and instant confirmation by email. When plugins are on, travellers can add extras, enter a promo code or pay a deposit.

Where checkouts are won and lost
Most lost bookings are lost at three points: when the price at checkout is higher than the price on the tour page, when the traveller worries that the seat will be gone while they find their card, and when the form asks for more than they expected. Tourtify's checkout is designed around those three moments.
The price on the tour page already includes taxes and fees. Seats are held for 30 minutes from Continue to checkout. The form asks for the lead traveller's name, email and phone and an optional Anything we should know? field, with no account or password to create.
Worked example: a family of four on a day tour
A family books two adults and two children. The tour has an Adult price of 120, 105 from 4 travellers, and a Child price of 80. As they add the fourth traveller, the booking box updates to 2 × 105 + 2 × 80 = 370. Your 13% tax is set as not included, so the total shown is already 418.10, the amount they will pay.
They choose Continue to checkout and see Securing your seats, then confirmation that the seats are held. If you use Add-ons & extras, they can add a lunch upgrade. If you use Deposits, they can choose Pay a deposit now. They pick a payment provider, pay on its secure page and land on a thank-you page while the confirmation email with its PDF is sent.
Prices are checked again before payment
Prices are re-checked live at checkout. If you change a tour price from 120 to 130 while someone is part-way through, the traveller is told before they pay rather than finding out afterwards. The same applies when a promo code cannot be combined with an automatic discount that already saves more: the checkout explains why.
This protects you from disputes, and it means you can adjust prices during the season without worrying about travellers who are already in checkout.
The cart: several trips, separate payments
Travellers can add several trips to a cart, for example a city walk on arrival and a three-day trek the week after. Each trip is checked out on its own, because every departure has its own seats and its own payment.
The trade-off is that a traveller pays more than once. In return, one failed payment never cancels another trip, and each booking has its own confirmation and manifest entry. The cart is kept on the traveller's device only, so a cart started on a phone is not on their laptop.
Setting tours up so checkout works well
Name options so a traveller can tell them apart without reading the description: Shared group and Private tour, not Option A and Option B. Set age limits on child types so the cheaper price is chosen correctly. Use the booking cut-off rather than relying on travellers to read that you need two days' notice.
Before going live, connect a provider in test mode with sandbox keys and complete a booking end to end. If travellers often leave before paying, the Abandoned checkout plugin can send one follow-up email with a link to resume.
When there is nothing to book
A checkout also has to handle the dates it cannot sell. When a departure is full, travellers see This departure is full. and can send a sold-out date request, which arrives in Enquiries; with the Waitlist plugin they can join a waitlist instead and are emailed when seats free up. When a tour has no open dates, the booking box says so and offers an enquiry form.
Treat those requests as demand you can measure. Several sold-out requests for the same Saturday are a reason to add a second departure or more seats.

Payments
Deposits & instalments
Take a deposit at booking and collect the balance later. Deposits (Starter): automatic card charges, reminders, retries and personal payment links for the balance. Instalment plans (Growth): let travellers pay the balance in equal scheduled payments.
Sales
Add-ons & extras
Sell extras at checkout: airport transfers, gear rental, travel insurance, single-room upgrades. Priced per booking, per traveller, per night or per item, with quantity limits, shared daily stock and a question per extra (e.g. shoe size).
Sales
Discounts
Every discount in one place, shown on your website and applied at checkout. Promo codes and automatic discounts (Starter): codes and links with rules and limits, and no-code discounts for early bird, last minute, minimum spend and travel dates. Group discounts and dynamic pricing (Growth): savings for bigger groups, and prices that move with demand and season.
Marketing
Email automations
Emails that go out by themselves. Abandoned checkout recovery (Starter): up to three follow-ups to travellers who started a booking but didn’t pay, each restoring their cart, with an optional discount on the last one. Your own automations (Growth): a welcome when someone books, a checklist before departure, review requests, balance reminders and win-backs, with your timing, tours and merge tags.
Sales
Gift vouchers
Sell or give gift vouchers with a value. Travellers enter the code at checkout and it pays like money, across as many bookings as the balance allows. Unused value comes back if a booking expires or is refunded.
